چکیده
The objective of this study consists in analyzing the determinants internal mobility refugees Turkey. We track down relying on geolocalized mobile phone calls data and bring these measures to a micro-founded gravity model order estimate main drivers refugee across 26 regions 2017. Our results show that movements are sensitive income differentials contribute therefore more efficient allocation labor space. Comparing findings with those individuals non-refugee status, we find variations at origin distance, while less responsive changes destination. These robust way is inferred from choice geographical unit investigation. Further, provide evidence against some alternative explanations such as propensity leave camps, transit through Turkey, social magnet effects sensitivity agricultural business cycles.

Use of Mobile Phone Data to Estimate Visitors Mobility Flows
Big Data originating from the digital breadcrumbs of human activities, sensed as by-product of the technologies that we use for our daily activities, allows us to observe the individual and collective behavior of people at an unprecedented detail. Many dimensions of our social life have big data “proxies”, such as the mobile calls data for mobility. In this paper we investigate to what extent d...
متن کاملDiscovering Regularity Patterns of Mobility Practices through Mobile Phone Data
This article addresses the issue of analyzing and mapping mobility practices by using different kinds of mobile phone network data, which provide geo-located information on mobile phone activity at a high spatial and temporal resolution. It will present and discuss major findings and drawbacks, based on an application carried out on the Milan urban region (Lombardy, Northern Italy) and suggest ...
متن کاملSocio-Geography of Human Mobility: A Study Using Longitudinal Mobile Phone Data
A relationship between people's mobility and their social networks is presented based on an analysis of calling and mobility traces for one year of anonymized call detail records of over one million mobile phone users in Portugal. We find that about 80% of places visited are within just 20 km of their nearest (geographical) social ties' locations. This figure rises to 90% at a 'geo-social radiu...
متن کاملExtracting Dynamic Urban Mobility Patterns from Mobile Phone Data
The rapid development of information and communication technologies (ICTs) has provided rich resources for spatio-temporal data mining and knowledge discovery in modern societies. Previous research has focused on understanding aggregated urban mobility patterns based on mobile phone datasets, such as extracting activity hotspots and clusters. In this paper, we aim to go one step further from id...
متن کاملUnderstanding Human Mobility Flows from Aggregated Mobile Phone Data
In this paper we deal with the study of travel flows and patterns of people in large populated areas. Information about the movements of people is extracted from coarse-grained aggregated cellular network data without tracking mobile devices individually. Mobile phone data are provided by the Italian telecommunication company TIM and consist of density profiles (i.e. the spatial distribution) o...
